Even if your tyres are not unidirectional, IMHO it is best to keep them on the same side and just move front to rear.

This way, by not having them 'roll' in the opposite direction, you reduce the difference in wear pattern, so they take less time to return to maximum performance.

Please check the owner's manual to see if you need to adjust the tire pressure. The tire pressure is 29psi in the front and 34psi on the rear (As I recall from the manual). You will have to let out some air on the rear tires and increase the pressure on the front tires after rotating. Then reset the TPM system.

In case anyone is looking for more information, the following topics discuss rotation some more...

Ooh... good point. Thanks for the reminder.

It should be okay if I change the tires at home, then drive very slowly to my nearby gas station, which is about 1.7 miles away from home, and then adjust the tire pressure there, right?

Thanks.

If your tires/wheels are all the same size and your tread pattern allows you to rotate front to rear (not side-to-side) then there's no reason why you can't do it yourself at home. There will be no reason to re-balance them, etc.

Now if you're talking about dismounting and remounting them to switch sides of the car due to tread pattern issues, etc., then sure, you'll have to have someone do it that can not only balance them, but treat them with TLC...
U are 100% right, you can do it your self but you will need 2 jacks.
Yes I have done this my self and it is OK.
I borrowed a 2nd jack of a frend.

I wouldn't recommend rotating them. First hands experience, they drive quality won't be the same again for a long time. But if you choose to get them rotated, BMW dealer is the best place, because they can align them and put proper weights on them.
No you dont have to go to BMW dealer to do stuff like this, they will just ripping you off.
Tyre shop are 100% safe and I know that they are more pro than BMW dealers because they only sell tyre. All BMW will do is give you a new sets and they would say itis not safe to swop them.

For most of the simple stuff like tyres, filter, oil change, brake pads, lights etc..... the little thing I would nerver go to BMW dealer after the warntee runs out. I go to a guy that only fixs BMW so he knows what he is doing.

EG. I just had my oil changed not from the BMW dealer and only cost me $166us for lubrolene REVO G-SPEC which is 300% better than the 1s that BMW will put in.

http://www.lubrolene REVO G-SPEC.co.jp/en/after_a.html

BMW dealer would have charge me $192us for just Mobil 1 which is just OK oil.

other eg is the real light bulb, BMW dealer would have charge me $65us to change 1 bulb, I only payed $3us to change it out side BMW dealer.

So the only thing that I would go back to BMW dealer is the computer stuff, and nothing more

So, what you're saying here is, these tires are "uni-directional" tread pattern? Thus can only swap the front and rear, on the same side, right?
This is wrong you can change any of the tyre on any wheel as long as the tread is facing the same why, unless the tread is not same on both side than yes that right you can only change the front to back.

[attachment=31169:attachment]

this is the tread that I have and I can put them on any rim as long as they are all the same directional.

Which is why they call your tires "directional." Do a search here on the word "asymmetrical" to see why rotating from side-to-side is possible without dismounting the tire...
