Tire question for Dallas folks
#1
Hi - It has been a while, but I am always lurking
My wife?s 2004 530 sport has split 3 run flats in the last month and I am changing the tires out for Michelin PS2s (based mainly on what I have read in this forum).
My Question: Is the Dallas weather mild enough for the regular PS2?s year around or would you all recommend the ?all season? version?
I am worried about loosing too much performance with the AS and that they seem to be higher profile(more rubber) than the regulars, which I do not think will look good on the E60.
How do the regulars handle in the rain? Any other advice is more than welcome.
Thanks for all the great information the last couple of years.

I live in Addison and I pimp my 04 530i up and down beltline at all hours of the day and nite with my stock Conti all seasons. I have no complaints about their handling even in all of this rain lately.. I have never had anything but the AS's so I really have nothing to compare them to but I am very satisfied with them
I have only the stock 17 inch wheels.

Many of my friends who own E60's have replaced theirs with PS2. Some immediately after delivery some after 18-20k miles. They all comment
the all season version is noticeably noisy. They comment that PS2 handling in the rain is not visibly irritating.
I kept my RFT until 18k. The dealer replaced them for me for road noise with a new Bridgestone RFT. However, I change my wheels
to 19" and ordered Michelin PS2. You wont go wrong with PS2 in Dallas area.

I also reside in Dallas area. Dallas area too much rain is unusual. Just within the last week is is a record. Most of the the time is dry and mild.

No need for all-seasons in Dallas, the PS2s work fine year-round (on both wet and dry pavement). You'll love them compared to the runflats.
However, I'm only getting about 15k miles on my rears. Fronts are wearing very well (and evenly).
