Hey everyone
I was driving today and went through a windy narrow street and when oncoming traffic came I hit the curb on the right and scratched my year rims edge. I would say it got about an half an inch in and all the way around of the rims edge grinded down.
What Can I do besides by a new rim. Can aluminum rims be refinish? I have aftermarket rims which are very similar to radenergies. Only the lip was scratched.
Let me know.
Thanks

Where are you located?
If it is an expensive wheel, you can send it for repair to a shop. If you search the web, there are several places out there like: http://www.wheelwizard.com/
I've heard that even dealerships do this with the cars they have in stock, whenever they get some wheel damage like that, they get those fixed, not replaced.

There are plenty of companies that can fix it, so don't sweat it. My wife curbed one of my new wheels last week and I had a guy come to my house today to fix it, on site! He did an AMAZING job! It looks like new.
Where are you located? Google "Wheel Repair" and your town/county and see what comes up. If you live in NY, I have a great guy that I would highly recommend.

If you're in SoCal there are several reputable places that can work wonders on wheels with scratches or minor curb rash. You'd be amazed.

$225 is wayyyy too much. And I would never take it to the dealer and have them outsource it. You're basically paying 2 parites, as you know the dealer is taking a piece of it. Avg cost for wheel repair is anywhere from $80 - $150, depending on the type of wheel and the damage. I paid $85 for my curb rashed wheel today and it looks like new again. You can't even tell where the old damage was, when looking up close.
