My Ride: 07 530 xiT, ED, titanium gray, Sirius, Logic7, Nav, HUD, PDC, comfort access, comfort seats, butt warmers
Will tire chains fit on 530xiT standard 17 inch wheels? If so, will mass market brands of tire chains fit, or do I need to purchase specialty chains?
(I'll be driving the car in the San Francisco area, so will use regular tires - no need for snows. I want to carry chains for 1-2 trips a year into the Sierra, just in case.)

Why is that?
If you get lot of snow overnight (or while you ski) it is better to put chains than to stay stuck somewhere....
On my 330 Ci I had to put snow chains twice as even with brand new winter tyres road had 30 of snow and on the downhill no way to brake at all....
