Tips on attaching lower radiator hose
Hi Umermariner,
I used the Home Depot # 31 "O" ring on the part number that is in your post and it worked great.
I'd say that at a couple of dollars, what do you really have to lose?
It took me maybe ten minutes to remove the sensor swap the "O" ring and put it back in.
Good luck,
Bud
Just need to make sure if I can use the same o-rings since my part number is a little diff (13621433077).

Hi LJTX545I, My apologies that this post got changed to the "O" ring and not the replacement of the lower radiator hose.
You can check out this video
The guy has really colorful language but in essence he used WD40 into a stuck plastic radiator hose that would not let go and then synthetic grease on the inside of the new hoses so that next time the hoses will come off easy.
Here is another video on BMW clip hoses removal
Good luck,
Bud

Thanks BuddyB.
That is helpful. I was not concerned about the price of O-ring of course
, it is the cheapest repair I guess... was concerned about being stranded on road if the other one fails during a long drive.
If you didnt encounter any issue afterwards, I will give it a shot as well
.
Thanks again.

The o-ring for the coolant temperature sensor is part number 13621743299.
Only the Sensor itself!
To order the Green O ring on line is probably not worth the shipping, unless you were already ordering something and just added it to the order.
It has been about a month and no problems with the #31 Danco / Home Depot O Ring.
Plus because it is located in the plumbing section (faucet repairs etc) you can assume that it is a possibility that the O ring could come in contact with some very hot water.
Some people set their water heaters really hot, so I don't think that the radiator temp will damage it.
Unless your worried about the anti-freeze bothering the rubber over a long period.
However people have been doing this swap for a long time, if there was a problem with it I'm sure that we would have heard about it.
I'm not concerned.
Bud

The local BMW Stealerships in my area do not stock or sell the Green O Ring.
Only the Sensor itself!
