I wipe the door jams & seals with a damp microfibre cloth every week. I had no creaks until a few weeks ago, when I drove 600km's to the coast where the humidity IeveIs are very high compared to where I live. When I got there, the car creaked like the doors in a horror movie, or as someone else put it "an old boat".
I could not believe how bad it was!
Then when I drove home 5 days later all the creaks were gone!
Based on this experience, the local climate may be a big factor explaining why some people have & others have not had the door seal problem.
It seems the dryer the climate, the better. Which probably explains why the wax causes problems.

Might work, but I don't want to be the one to try!

[/quote]Well, that's not so bad. You should have a very good production of mushroom, at least.

I took my 13 month old 545 to a detailer .
Wanted a polish/wax, and the wheels waxed.
Left it with him but forgot to mention not to wax the door jams.
I pick the car up , and wouldn't you know my perfectly squeak free door jams now sound like the old wooden ship.

I had such bad paint on it that I had to wax (and clence) it before the trade

No problems with the seals in my new one

I had seals replaced with "new" seals, and within weeks, back to creaking. It may be climate-related, but is a very real problem -- and no, the microfiber cloth isn't enough. Deliberated about going back to the dealer, but that wastes another day, and probably gets a new set of seals, but same result.
Decided to try REJEX treatment. It works. Car is now quiet. Not sure how long it will last, but I'd rather apply this stuff monthly than get frustrated with the dealer whilst BMW tries half-heartedly to fix the problem.
If anyone else is getting tired of reading posts on this and just wants to solve the problem, I'd suggest you do the same.
