[quote name='acribb' date='Nov 29 2004, 08:58 PM']The delay is characteristic of this car, unfortunately.? I highly doubt it will ever be corrected, if even correctable.? Make sure you have plenty of room before you change lanes in traffic!

The sad thing is, my cousin's G35 gets on it nicely when you gas it (downshifts and goes!).

Hmm,? 30K vs 52K.? Shouldn't mine react faster????

:'(? :'(

not necessarily ..... but yours SHOULD ride nicer, be more luxerious, and give you a bigger ego ;-)

Thanks for the info Iceman ;P. As long as this delay isn't NOTICABLE then it's fine(for me at least) (ex: if it comes on after .1 seconds, then ... heh I wouldn't mind, but more than a second then man that sucks).

Hopefully this is a s/w problem and can easily be fixed.

A couple members reported that it was better after a software upgrade.
However, mine is worse. But there are a couple things who just doesn't seem to work right.
Wednesday they repeat the software update, what will hopefully solve my problems.

Have any of the software upgrades eliminated the throttle delay? I notice it in

D mode not D/S. Also w/? a/c? on it is less marked. Is there a fix for this?

Happens alot? w/? engine warm and from a standing start. Really annoying.

Vik,

I have the same problem from a standing start. It seems to be RPM related when idling at 500 RPM. The car hesitates or stumbles when depressing the throttle normally. I can avoid the hesitation if I nurse the RPMs a little with very slight throttle pressure before depressing further. I do not experience hesitation when the car is idling at 750 RPM. I do not experience any hesitation to throttle inputs once the car is underway; throttle response and transmission downshifts are excellent.

I am reluctant to experiment with software updates (mine is a July 2004 build)because everything else works perfectly.

Do you experience the delay at any other time other than from a standing start?

I know all of you own petrol/gas vehicles but from a DIesel perspective the throttle delay is most noticed if you lift off while driving, allowing the revs to drop some, then hit the gas there is a huge pause before the car gets going again. It really catches me by surprise and borders on being dangerous.

This may be due to turbo lag then again it me due to the same thing that is causing the problem in your cars.

Havn't noticed any delay what-so-ever in my 545ia built 6/15/04.That goes for Auto drive, DS, and the manual gears in Step. Thus I don't think it is a trait of all E60's. I test drove a 2003 Audi turbo A6 that had that "turbo-lag", and I could not stand it. Would not be a happy camper if that happens with my 545i.
Either cars built from June' 04 on don't have the delay or the softwear updates most have had have created or exagerated the problem.
Makes me never want to get a softwear upgrade no matter what. If it's not neccesary don't get it. My Verizon V60 phone doesn't sound all that great, and it does not always dial out on I-Drive, but I refuse to bring it in for an update because of all the problems the softwear updates have created for so many on the board.
