Have any of the software upgrades eliminated the throttle delay? I notice it in

D mode not D/S. Also w/ a/c on it is less marked. Is there a fix for this?

Happens alot w/ engine warm and from a standing start. Really annoying.

I believe at least one person had the idle RPM increased from 500 RPM to 600 in D mode without A/C. According to the previous post, this eliminated the delay. My guess is changing this default setting may affect the fuel and emission efficiency. Remember 545i V8 does not require "gas guzzler tax".

I used to have a delay. Went away after an update. I don't know if it relates to your 545 though.

i have a 530 and used to have that, too . but after 13.2 s/w update, it became worse . i asked my dealer and the tech test drove three other e60 but they all reacted the same . so he told me that's normal . they didn't do anything to fix that . it's not only annoying, it's dangerous, too . let's say if you are on the highway and trying to enter the fast lane but the car has a delay. i could possibly get rearended by that . i wish the newer s/w update will fix this problem .

Mine have not been updated yet but my delay really troubling me. My mileage right now is about 8000 and have not changed my oil yet. Is that one of the problem why it is having the delay or the software ?

alohalc ... when are you going in for your first oil change? i picked up my car on the first of this month, and have 2K on it already. wondering if 4k - 5k miles will do it?! i think the service reminder shows not until 10k miles for first service.

i asked the sales mgr about the oil change and he said i don't have to do anything for now. just wait until the indicator comes on. it's hard to tell how many miles is the right time. diff people drive differently and our cars will react differently as well. so some might need oil change when it hits 7k miles but some might need it later. in my situation, i need it when the car is a year old since i don't know how many years will it take for me to hit 10k miles .
