I'd stick with the E60.

I truly appreciate all the feedback guys. Just one of the reasons this is my favorite forum.

I love my car but really miss that M feeling.
I always tell my friends that if my M3 was a coupe I would probably still have it.
That was the best car I ever owned by far! I'll never by a covertible sports car again.

Maybe thats what I should buy? How about a 2006 M3 ZCP?

A wonderful car in its day, but personally I'd have to think twice about owning an E39 M5 (or any M car for that matter) out of warranty. That said, if you find a good example and have the stones to handle the repair risk it will give you something extra compared to your 550. Those M intangibles run deep and they stand the test of time. Look at how sought after an E30 M3 is.

Out of my price range for now but in couple of years a manual trans 2007 would work.

Its still 45 degrees up here so I haven't done the spring detail yet.
The Dinan upgrade doesn't provide adequate/enough power? Were you the original installer or did you buy the car already with Dinan mods?

The Dinan upgrades didn't provide any real gains. I dyno'd it before and after and showed no gains at the wheels.
I also went to the track before and after and ran the same exact time. The only thing that increased was my trap speed.
I will say that it sounds great and seems to breathe better. If you look at my previous posts you'll find more info with exact numbers.

I was the original installer and had it done at Fall Line Motorsports. The fact is you can't get any gains on a NA engine without
forced induction. In hindsight I would have just done the exhaust and S1 software upgrade.

Did you get better mileage after the intake?
