Can't be worse than an M5 poser! See my sig! Plus, my badge says M54. Its not posing, but damn its deceiving as hell to most!

+1, consider some low dust brake pads as well if you do go with 172's

My current car, pics from last spring.

Actually it's a bit lower now since the springs have now settled.

Will post new pics of my E60 before I get my new car in mid July.

I see you have the 166s. Nice. Oh, and turn that JB to 100%.

jb+ was sold a few months back...my lease is up in 6 months so pretty much back to stock except wheels (which might be up for trade later this year, for 124's)

tests showed 75% vs 100% showed very little difference, and 91-93 octane @ 75% did better than 100% with 91-93 octance...so unless you run >93 octane all the time..75% is the recc'd setting for max performance

GL with your wheel decision

Has anyone heard of a dealer giving grief over warranty issues with non standard wheels? The e90 site has me all scared to make the change. The 172s are OEM, but on a different model.

That Cali 91 octane does limit you to 75%. Here in Texas we have the good 93 stuff. It adds about 10hp/10tq from 75% to 100%.

Technically if the dealership wants to be an a$$hole and say something like your bearings go out, or your joints wear prematurely, then they could bring up the whole non-standard wheels/warranty issue. But it would not void your entire warranty, only if they can show the modification directly cause X to fail. So if you switched wheels and your engine blew you'd still be covered, etc.
