Yes, I have read about the CPO warranty on BMW's site. I guess it would be smart to look for a CPO, there is also a chance that that 530i didn't get taken in for certification. But seeing as the car is still under 60k mls, wouldn't it still qualify for CPO? How much does certification cost?
I know repair costs would be expensive, but I know of a guy that will work on any vehicle only charges $50 an hour + parts which he gets at wholesale price for you and he does excellent work and is very careful. Just had him do my timing belt and water pump for only $380 parts included.

Certification costs you a little more in the sale price, but well worth it in the peace of mind you get from it. Before I bought my car I looked at another (like the link you posted) that wasn't CPO, it was cheaper, but it also had more miles than the one I bought and there were warning lights all over (regular maint.). I just kept looking and about a month later I found my car CPO (03/2005 530, I got it in 06/2007 with 16k miles). Now I have a car that has a warranty until 100K miles or 03/11 and maint until 03/11 as well. Gotta love it

2004 vehicles do not qualify for CPO anymore and soon the 2005 cars won't either. BMW will only CPO vehicles of a certain age.

Did you pay to extend the maintenance till 3/11? I know that the CPO doesn't cover maintenance it is just a warranty that covers most but not everything on the car.
Getting a CPO will defiantly be something to add to the list of things i want the car to have/be.

Actually I din't pay for the extended maintenance, somehow it got included in the deal without ending up on the contract. So far everything has been smooth as silk, all scheduled maint. taken care of (even though I have done additional oil changes in between) and everything is well. I am guessing you can either a) negotiate the extended maint into your contract or b) get them to lower the price of the car to the point where you feel comfortable adding the maint without breaking the bank.

You were very lucky,
I have found out to add extended maintenance to the vehicle it needs to already be covered by the original 4yr/50,000mls maintenance plan.
I might be able to work something out though.

I have still been looking around and I cannot find exactly what I am looking for, Black on Black with navigation and heated seats.
I still am looking at years 2004-2006 and I see some 2006's with physical keys and some with the fobs and the ones with the fobs they show running with it in the ignition lock, does having the fob on a 2006 model indicate it is equipped with comfort access?
