My history with everything except Michelins is that they get louder as they wear down. But, louder also associates with sharper handling and better water displacement.

I had Bridgestones on my first E60 and found them not to be a very good tyre.I have Dunlops on this one and they have improved the ride and handling quite a lot.

I am perfectly happy with the 17" Dulop run flats fitted to my car.

I have the same experience with michelin. I had the pilot sport 2 under my last car. This is a supersport tire with a supersportprice. First of all the tires didn't wear a lot because of the sticky nature (no possibility to skid). And they were very very quiet.

Michelins have been my worst tyre as far as tread ware was concerned - otherwisw
a pretty fair ride..

I test drove 17" Dunlop run flat...never noticed them. Ride and sound levels were
sublime...

I have the 17" (122) with the Bridgestone run flats with 9.000 kms and they are just new.
About 80% of the driving time at more than 150 Km/h.

Is there a way to add a spare? Doesn't spare and jack come on the std 525/530/545? Isn't there enough space to store a full size tire after a flat?

Thanks,

David

P.S.
This is also a Corvette problem. Z06 does not use runflats. Changing a regular Corvette is apparently a BIG improvement.

Reminds me of my first conversation with BMW Assist during initial activation. The talker insisted that I had a full size spare. My second call didn't go even that well.

Although I've read a lot of complaints about run-flats, I haven't been able to notice an improvement in ride quality since I've changed to my Potenza S-03 Pole Positions (although some of that may be attributable to an increase from 17' to 18' wheels). If anything, I think my Dunlop run-flats were somewhat quieter and less prone to tramlining when compared to my current Bridgestones. Just my 2 cents..

Thanks for sharing your Potenza experience, Hartge530. Many of us will likely be looking at re-tiring within the next year and input like this will be helpful in making those decisions. I, for one, have no idea at this point what I will do when it comes time to buy replacements.
