Hey guys, I deeply appreciate all the input on my threads regarding my search on a BMW 5 series.

Part 1 was about the overall general info on the car
Part 2 was choosing between 528 and 535i

now finally part 3....

from BMWusa.com I found a 528i with 21k miles and premium, sports, and xenon. Price: $31,000

a 528i with 34580 miles, premium, sports. didn't show xenon, costing $32,991

and a 528i with 42920 miles, costing 34k. with comfort, sports, premium, navi, and xenon.

The $31000 528i is from nick alexander and it doesn't have a carfax report. When I emailed them they said they always have competitive pricing. the fully loaded 42920 miles 528i is from crevier and it's just plain expensive.

Which one do you guys think I should get? I like the nick alexander one but the price is too good for a loaded 528i with low mileage.

Thanks for your input! If everything goes well I may very likely make the purchase this weekend

heh ya, I could imagine how great 535i is, but I'm just not willing to tolerate the HPFP problem. Some say don't even test drive 535i if you are not ready for HPFP, cuz once you test drive it, it'll be hard to leave that out of comparison. I rather not get hooked to the monstrous engine heh.

Well, between the first and second one, I would do the first if all is well.

ya I would too, but doesn't it seem like too good of a deal? While crevier is selling similiar 528 for 40k, nick is only selling for 31k. That's what im scared of. I also like the 2nd one because it was bought in april 2008, not fall 2007. Means I can get an extra 6 months of warranty. Can anyone give me any tips on how to haggle for prices in person and online? I personally know no mechanic friends that can help me inspect the car. I guess I'm just going to read over the inspection report and go with gut feelings.

What are the key points I should be extra cautious when reading an inspection report and service record?

I hope all goes well with this purchase because once this money is paid, I won't be able to sell the car (2nd owner) nor get the original amount back.

Thx!

what about it bothers you? if you're purchasing from the dealer then it'll be CPO'd and you get a free replacement. it's worth it in my opinion. it really is a night and day difference between the two.
