The X5 4.8i is the X5 4.8i, the 535d is the 535d
I didn't understand why 535d should be so impressive .

Why still got the standard steering wheel on the LCI model?? I thought they have changed to sport for all LCI E60 (even not with sport package).

It is different than pre-LCI. The old had some plastics/chrome around airbag part.

Here is the photo of my ex-E60 (2004 model). It's the same steering wheel (except for the two stiches on the top part and the gaps in the middle). And it felt exactly the same. What I also noticed is that this demo car had no "servotronic" ie. was painful to turn while parking. (It was one of the reasons I sold mine.)

Bought my first new BMW 4 years ago on a Saturday, I turned up in a grotty T shirt and shorts, parked my then car down the street from the dealer. In other words I was anonymous. They gave me the keys to a new BMW without asking about capacity to pay. I ended up purchasing that car later that day.

That reflected well on the dealership, other premium car dealers seem to have preconceptions on what a premium car purchaser should look like!! I attended one dealer a few years earlier to look at a particular car ( a well known brand), the salesman tried to down -sell to a cheaper car. I was not happy and told the dealer Principal later in private when I met him socially.

Huh? you mean each mirror has joints right? and only one of them is a real hinge? The other is fake and just kind of hangs there? so if you fold it couple of times it gets mis-aligned?

Looks like the Top part is free and is not connected...
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The top one is fake, it's pretty clear in the picture.

Thank's for sharing Greg530,

I just love these personal BMW reviews with pics.

PS. Demo cars plates do not need to be a secret.
