I'll be the first to admit the full-LCI can help make an older e60 "look like" a newer model.

so is there anything wrong with going through bavauto or ebay instead of OEM? what's the difference exactly? btw i do know what OEM means, i'm just asking what the difference is on these types of lights exactly.
i think the smoked taillights would look cool with my monaco blue, but really i'm just looking for a cheap replacement. $500 is really, really expensive for a tail light.

There are actually a bunch of threads on this replica light, with pictures. Should do a search.
Also, maybe we need to sticky one of those threads. The same thing comes up every week, week and a half or so.

Try everything. They do not look like the LCI's at all. The LCI's rods wrap all the way around, and these replica ones do not.

i guess if i am not buying OEM, i definitely need to buy 2 lights since they won't look the same? i.e. the bavauto won't be a direct replacement and i'd need to buy the right and the left?
i looked up and some junk yards around here have them for $150 each used. that might be my best bet.

yeah i know there are a lot of threads, almost too many. as i searched for them it seems like i can find a bunch of different information but nothing that is all that helpful.
