Received notification from dealer today that the SZL(DSC steering angle sensor) sensor is an official recall in the UK. Mine has already been replaced as it went faulty!
Is this subject to a recall elsewhere?

Hi Guys,
I've received the same notice - the note from BMW states quote:

"Quality monitoring at BMW has revealed that a component of the optical steering angle sensor may fail. Such a failure would in turn cause failure of the automatic turn signal reset function and of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control.) If the vehicle is fiited with Active Steering, AHL (Adaptive Headlights), ARS (Active Roll Stabilisation) or ACC (Active Cruise Control) optional equipment, these would also be prone to failure. The failure of DSC, ARS, and Active Steering is indicated by their indicator lamps lighting up"

Hope this helps.....................

This is the second recall in the last 6 weeks for me, you can't win them all can you..................

Or, they could just monitor this board and see there's a problem!

What was wrong with the rear shocks???

With 18" RF tyres they do not work at all in city driving,
this I know for a fact.
It feels like the cars rear gets loose in turns!!!

I had a recall for my ex '04 E60 about the seat heaters.
They did overheat in some cases making even burns to people.

I was told by BMW last week of a recall for a steering sensor. I had the work done last Thursday at Karl&Co BMW in Mainz-Kastel. I didn't ask for specifics.

Yes! I'd like to know this!

I'm sure I've experienced (or experiencing?) the problem!

I'm going to ring the dealership tomorrow... Last time I asked them about a recall they were quite good. (Heated seats problem - updated my CIP without argument even though I don't have heated seats!!!)
