I just pulled my summer Dunlop SP Sport 01's (staggered) to put winters on. I didn't find anything on them that suggests they are unidirectional tires - is this the case or can I switch them left to right in the spring?

These tires are not directional...they are inside and outside tires...if you look on the sidewall of the tire it will say outer and inner...you CAN swap them from side to side but it will not make a difference...unless you are experiencing premature tire wear on one of these tires due to either an alignment issue or some suspension components being loose...if everything is ok, it will not make a difference in how long the tires last you...but whatever you do, do not rotate them front to back.....lol!

I never rotate side to side, the tyres develop a wear pattern based upon thier rotation.

There is a theory that altering the rotation results in a short period drop in performance and increase in wear until the new directional wear pattern has been established.

If course it could be total rubbish?
