WOW BIG CAR there AceBMW5... Might try resizing your pics. Anyways, I will give that song a try. And about normalizing your MP3, just google it and you'll find tons of applications to do that. Also if you hear a small difference at least, its proven that I'm not just teasing right? I'll let everyone know how that song sounds.

Ya report back. I like to know the results. Make one regular MP3 and one with this software and compare 2 songs back to back.

Ok, just converted 20+ songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not much different, almost infact no difference, i think its a placebo effect, only "minor" differences i "think" i heard was the bass was lower, yet smoother thumping bass, felt a bit more responsive. Also the treble sounds like a bit "surrounded" the highs are just working together, but really i dont see a difference. according to ebmcs03 i have the hifi system? do i or the standard system.

1. if i have the standard system, i felt like it was very minimal in change.
2. if i have the hifi system, i felt like it was very minimal in change.

either way you look at it, if your going to look at least for logic7 sound, get a 5.1 amp or do something..... your not going to acheive surround sound with some program you convert. well thats my honest opinion i dunno how bose acheives 5.1 virtual surround sound with a 2.1 setup in there 321 gsx system????? you tell me!

I'm just seeing this now...

First, L7 is one of two or three logic circuits designed to do just what we're talking about - that is to take a simple stereo track and intelligently steer the audio to multiple channels. The others that I know of are Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo 6.

The only thing that could make this better is to take a true 5.1 source (DTS, DVD-Audio, Dolby Digital) and then encode it with something that can create some "hints" in the resultant file. I know that there are some options in LAME that will do this - inserting the center and rear channel information into the stereo track in such a way so that a steering/logic circuit like L7 or Pro Logic II can place the audio roughly back where it belongs. This should in theory improve the interaction between the logic circuit and the music.

There is an L7 production tool that permits sound engineers to "steer" and "hint" parts of the audio so that the stereo track will be maximized for L7. The same holds true for Pro Logic II. Some video game audio is set up this way. I would imagine that getting our hands on a tool that takes true discrete 5.1 and hints stereo tracks for L7 would be ideal, and probably the best we're going to get.

The trouble is that there is very little true 5.1 content out there with which to "homebrew" hinted material.
