I took my 08 535 in for a courtesy oil change and was told by the dealer they had a bulletin where they were required to check my HPFP model number and the model number for each of my injectors. If they didn't fall within a certain range, deisgnated as acceptable by BMW, they were to be replaced - even though I had no problems.

Although they put new rings on all injectors, they found only 2 injectors had to be replaced.

Interesting ... how many miles on your '08?

Same here....they replaced (1) injector in 9/09...I had a "malfunction" error. No problems since. Then about a month ago, went in for the oil change service, got it back and they replaced the HPFP and (5) injectors.

I have about 20,000 miles on my 08.

Service rep was reading from what appeared to be a bulletin. I think it is mandatory that they check numbers on all injectors and on each HPFP that comes in - no matter the reason for the service call. If your injectors or pump numbers do not fall within the designated range they are required to replace them. That is what I was told.
