Style 124 rear wheel weight inaccurate?
#1
Hey all,
I blew out a tire this past weekend and while waiting for a new one to come in I had a chance to weigh the rear 9JX18 (BMW p/n 36116775646). I used a digital bathroom scale both ways... first by weighing myself with and without the wheel and again with just the wheel. Both figures were in agreement putting the wheel at 32.8lbs. At least according to the vendors in the links below the published part weight is 24.9lbs which is similar to the figures I've seen for other E60 wheels in the past.

I checked the inside of the spokes and it appears to be OEM unless the knockoffs copy these markings as well. Has anyone heard of BMW wheels weights being this optimistic? It seems like this would be good to know while selecting aftermarket wheels!
