Yesterday I noticed that when I close the sunroof from the "tipped" position I hear a loud noise. Prior to yesterday this was not happening. Has anyone had a similar problem and has it how was it fixed?

I have what I would describe as a loud crackling ? thunk??that happens at the instant the roof has reached the full closed position. It?s done it since day one?and I just figured it was normal for the car? Maybe not?I?ll be interested to see what others have to say.

The loud thunk you describe is not normal because prior to yesterday I did not have the problem.

I have the same problem as these earlier post. Minor, but annoying.Really can't complain, everything else has been terrific for the first 8,000 miles on my 545ia, but the sun roof banging shut since delivery as mentioned by the previous posters. BMW will check it out at first oil change visit.Wondering if it was a big deal to fix, or just a minor adjustment?

Mine does that, but only if I close from tip position at 110km/h and over. Below that speed its seems fine, anyone else tried this?

Best regards

It can be fixed by lubricating the seal area.
