when i go to close my sunroof, it has been barely contacting the wind deflector and then reverses back open. i then have to reach up and hold the wind deflector down a bit with my finger to get the dang thing to close. is there some adjustment to fix this? or what is the fix? heeeeeeeelp! thanks in advance.

the wind deflector is actually called a slipstream deflector. my bad.

i have noticed that if i creep the sunroof closed, it will not hit the deflector but if i let it close at its usual pace, bam, it just barely hits the deflector and back open it goes.

it seems like an intricate dance is occurring and the deflector just doesn't dance out of the way fast enough. when it does miss the deflector, i swear it misses it by like half a millimeter. ok i just noticed turboawd's message above as i am typing this. i'll give that a try and post back the results.

You've got something in the way. Bmw make their windows retract even with the slightest friction. Have a good look at the wind deflector mechanis there must be something there that's causing the friction. It might Just need a good lube

I had the samething happen to me. Have u tried using the sunroof crank n the bmw tool box? I tried that a couple of times and almost rounded off the hole. Look n ur manual on how to locate. Eventually I got lucky just by pushing and holding the button forward. After that I dont open it anymore except the flip function.

to adjust sunroof, you have to remove rubberized skirts on each side, pull gently and it will detach, this will expose three torxs on each side, by loosening them up you will ba able to move glass for -aft, sid to side and up-down.Just note - fron of the glass is expected to be mounted level to roof line OR below 1mm. All adjustments are done with sunroof in closed position.

Looks like the black trim on the inside left and right side of the sunroof has to be removed, according to BMW TIS.

Edit: I just noticed that only mechanical sunroof info is available at spaghetticoder.
