Hello all, well I am picking up my first BMW tomorrow an 06 e60 530xi. Very excited, glad to be a part of the family. My concern is I'm loosing my loved sunglass holder. I've searched through the forums and online but cannot find a mod for this. I know the e39 has a part to retrofit the ash tray into a sunglass holder, but cannot locate one for the e60. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Door bin - drivers side - don't worry about it.

Interesting. I didn't know the E39 had this option. Not that I can even visualize it since the ash tray seems too small. But then again I've never used the sunglass holder in cars that had them either. I just keep them on my head.

I guess you're looking for something like this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7049 ? But for the E60.

My wife gave me a neat one that fits the sun visor. I thought it came from Bavarian Autosports, but can't find it on their pages. I used it in the E39 for eight years before transferring to the E60. Works great and keeps the lenses free of scratches.

You use it most of the time, so CID is the best place. Center ARM rest next, door bin on driver side next, and then cubby hole if you don't have nav.

Door bin is quite shallow. Seems like it would fall out? Pardon my ignorance but what is CID?

How big are your shades - my Oakley A-Wires disappear deep into the doorpocket

Oh mine are much smaller than Oakley A-wires. But regardless of size just seems they woud fly out when opening or slamming the door closed.
