I'm wondering if anyone has run 245/40/19 with 166 (or 167) wheels on the front? I know it is going to be close and my tire guy will give it a try once I make a wheel choice. Anyone running 245/40/19 frt and 275/35/19 rr?

I'm a fairly new owner of a 545i sport and am wanting to change wheels too. I have been all over the place regarding what wheel to have... 166, 167, 128 alpina etc etc and have been watching this forum avidly.

My main problem at the moment is finding definitve answers to all these offset questions for the rear ET17 vs ET28 etc. I am quite particular about how the car looks and wouldn't want the ET17 to make the rear of the car look like a formula 1 car. The car is also standard height but I may consider lowering. I do carry passengers and luggage too.

Does anybody have side on close up pictures of an e60 with ET17+ offsets so we can all see what the overall look is and whether we need to worry about rubbing?

Don't get me wrong - I've done lot's of searches but never found anything that allows me to take the plunge - Budget is also a problem so I am currently spying up some M6 167s with ET17 rear, but I don't want to buy them only to have my wheels arch ground .

I used to own a e39 540i6 sport and knew everything there was about this car, but finding info on the e60 is hard. still love the car though!!
Here you go .... M6 rear ET17+275/35/19 in non M5 without spacer...

Thanks for that pic. This should make the decision a lot easier. Do you have any rubbing in the front with the 245/40 and the ET12?

FOO wow, is that really the M6 et17?? that doesn't look bad at all... the et28 must be really under the wheel arch

Well I hope mine looks like that as I have taken the plunge and bought Genuine M6 167's. I been having sleepless nights about the offset being wrong but your pictures have some what calmed me down. I 'haggled' them off ebay for ?1000 brand new, and crikey are these things light. I can pass his id if any wants to get some - i think he bought a big shipment.

I am having trouble 'quoting' pictures and posts, but what suspenion set up have you got with the picture in front of the large glass reflection?

This picture and the above ..... have 10mm spacer in the front and 20mm at the rear to get the "full" look ..... the STD M6 will look fine with the non M5 (my car) with perfect safe at the rear.
In the front the M6 rim may have rub but this is correctable and it will look very full with the OEM non M5 front
