166s are nice, but does not stand out, especially if you are at a meet.
+1 I start to see there are too many cars with it

I'll buy a set of spinners just for the Meet & Greet events

You guys joke about spinners but I'm wondering, anyone ever seen a e60 with spinners? I figure someone out there thinks it would look cool, although I hope it isn't the case.

I love the look, but would hate to clean them which is why I love the wheels on the 535 (sports pkg). They look good enough and they are simple to clean.

Negative: They don't spin and they're not chrome.

And looks bigger than they actually are.
That's true. They look enormous in person. Hard to believe they're the same size as my tarantulas (172s.) But it does seem like everybody and their sister is getting the 166s. Reminds me of the Mustang guys with their infatuation of those hideous Torq Thrust, aka Bullitt, wheels.

IMHO, They are ugly. They are not distinctive and they look like they belong on a Japanese Sports sedan like the WRX. I can't stand them.
1) No lip
2) The offset makes them look cheap
3) They are a very dull silver, looks like they are cheap fake chrome.
4) They cheapen the car.
5) Did I mention they have no lip.
6) If it's not an M5 you are putting them on, it makes your car look like a wanna be M5. Which IMHO, is a waste of time.

Go aftermarket with much better design. Set your car apart.
Hey Zuppy, no really.. tell us how you really feel

Honestly, please.

vish, you cant go wrong with 166 at all. And dont worry about your car not being an M5 or wuteva, for as long as you are not badging your ride to be an M5. I have the 166 and till this day, I still get compliments. In no way does it look cheap or "cheapen the car" (the only way to do that is to rip your BMW badge off, and put Honda Rims on it)

I chose the 166 because for a daily driver, it was a solid wheel. Fancy enough to say Bmw, but not too crazy to look like some futuristic Ps3 game cover. I looked into aftermarket esp with lips, but driving in NYC and dealing with the road dirt/grime/and wuteva was just a pain

no issues with cleaning the 166, get a brush or get someone to clean it for you =)

good luck !
