How???? Pray tell!!! What mileage and what were the circumstances???? I think the coolant system is different though (see my post)...
My car had around 30k miles, and I saw some coolant on the garage floor. Brought it to the dealer, told them it was leaking and when I got the car back the SA told me they replaced a hose
going to the radiator or something.

At this point, I'd get an estimate from a good indy shop and go with the lesser cost option.

Dealer is going to repair coolant system and only charge me for the hose for the secondary air pump (no labor as they had to get into the engine bay for the coolant anyways). Total cost = 200 some odd dollars.....

Well worth it IMO. I also got a nice visual inspection of all of the intake, manifold, cylinders etc so I know that there are no other leaks anywhere else. As the car has 82K miles on it - this is good to know.

The fact that BMWNA selectively takes out rubber components from their warranty irks me. How much would it cost BMW to replace rubber parts, belts, tensioners when compared to major catastrophic failures? Is it worth trying to pinch pennies in this manner for a company that extols the virtue of it's maintainence plan???

Tsk tsk BMW....
