Have been searching internet but with no success, therefore my questions goes here - is it legal requirement to have same tyre on the same axle in Italy?

Thanks!

If you are talking same size then yes.

if you are talking same make then no.

the reason I ask because in some countries it is illegal. I had rental alfa romeo and left front/rear were bridgestones and right front/rear were goodyear. different tyres has different breaking properties, different aquaplaning properties.

In France also the legal requirement is exactly same tyre on either end of the same axle. Same size, speed rating, load rating, make etc. Would imagine this general ruling applies to other parts of the EU?

in the UK apparently it is possible to have different tires on the same axle - but it is not exactly EU, isn't it?
