Basically when braking, and the car has just stopped there will be a noise like pump closing or hydraulic noise. Not when stopping at crawling speed. Has anyone had anything like this?

My car makes all sorts of noises (like hydraulic and buzzing noises) under many different scenarios -- all of which are normal, I believe.

Hmmm, thing is I went for a half-day drive on Audi Ss(3,4,6,8), I only heard the howling of the 5.2 V10 Lambo engine, none of this groaning, hydraulic noises :-)

are you going to get one of those audi Ss? and I dont think the Lambo engine is in the S3... is it even in the S4? Thought it was only in teh S6

Yeah, unfortunately the missus hid the chequebook .... Fact is I just got the BMW for 2 months now, not looking to buy anything else, but got the invitation from the NZ Audi distributor to drive the Ss.

I got to try an S6 and S8. Also RS4, and TT S-tronic (and S3 and S4).

Thats awesome! How'd you get invited? I want to be invited... I would be a high potential customer... wonder if US has these kind of events... I'm sure they do... just need to know how to get on the list.

I know the GM of the local Audi dealer from his days at BMW. Also I'd been to the Audi showroom a few times, looking at their vehicles. Another thing is in NZ you can legally do a research on the vehicle registration database, meaning you can target specific vehicle owners. You can say 'select * from tables where year >2002 and brand in (BMW, Mercedes Benz, Alfa Romeo) and location = wellington', and you got your potential buyers.

The local Mercedes Benz dealer also holds this kind of events for their customers, always held at this place MB - Boomrock
