Are you guys saying that clear bras won't work because rocks come flying from all directions, not just the front?
In the US, I guess clear bras have become so popular that some good installers can offer "custom" clear bras. This means that they are not limited to just the precut molds intended for your specific car. The custom ones are where they take huge rectangular sheets of the film and cut it themselves, fitting it to whichever panels you want. This means that instead of just covering the bumper, hood, etc, you can basically cover the entire car (and actually I've seen a few exotic car owners an entire Carrera GT, Bentley, etc. ) They also hide the edges of the film in the seams of the panels of your car, so unless the car is very dirty, it would be impossible to tell that the car has the film on it.

Other than cost - are there any negatives to the clear bra (3M)?
Do they work on the headlight glass as well as the paint?
My car's still on the boat - but I think I will have it protected as soon as I can.
When driving into NYC there is NO way to hang back from the taxi or truck in front.
