Check for bad wheels or wheel bearings. One time on my e36, I had a bad wheel that had a pock mark. I got the wheel repaired and replaced the wheel bearing. My indy mechanic called it.

Thanks for the help don.

The bearing is fine, I have no noise or looseness.

The damaged wheel is for sure probable, I'll try to find a shop that's specialized in rims repair. The fact that the same thing happens with resr wheels amazes me.

To be honest, I'm not sure of the quality of the jobs the 2 shops did. I still have a lot of balancing weights on the rim. About 10

Yeah, that's a lot of weights. So, your tires were checked too? Not just the tread. After a while, you'd probably need an indy BMW specialist to reassess a few things.

Hello guys,

Short question, can the rear axle be the culprit? I am asking because a guy had a similar problem on a 3 series and the issue was a rear bearing that didn't turn properly, changing it solved it.

I am going through the same iss ussue only mine is violent shaking while braking over 55. I have replaced pads, rotors (expensive a$$ m5 rotors) front and rear control arms, and sway bar arms. I am running out of parts to throw at it. I jsut ordered new struts and strut mounts. If this doesn't work I will try Tie Rods ( I do not feel play in these with the wheels off the ground) SO frustrating. If anyone has any suggestions I am up open ears.

Are all parts being torqued with the car loaded? Can be simulated by jacking up on it. If not that can contribute to the issue.

Yes, I torqued everything with the car weighted.

How old are your tires? Balancing and alignment have been done recently?
I am sure tires are the culprit on mine only I don't want to put 700 bucks on Michelins rn

My tires are new, I am waiting on doing an alignment until after I do the struts and possible tire rods. I am not that upset about throwing parts at it. The car has 120,000 miles and it is probably a good time for a freshen up.
