hey guys, the noise that you can hear actually on your steering wheel when making small turns on low speeds like when you are living your garage and turn . is that related to the steering column? I think the dealer replaced some motors and my column, like a year ago on my car, but now I can hear this tucking noise, anyone having the same problem?

Is it anything like this? I am not sure what a "tucking" noise is, however.

mmm its hard to explain, like something is broken but is a noise that you can barely hear it and feel it.

I have the same problem and my dealer is looking at it today ... is it a plastic sort of tapping, like the clicking of a pen or tapping your fingernail lightly on the spacebar of your keyboard? I can also feel it very lightly in the steering wheel and can't pin it down to turning or vibrations from the road. It feels like it is inside the steering wheel itself, somewhere around the airbag or just behind. Is this what you have? I'll keep you posted on my findings.

yeah man, its not a very bad noise, but you can feel it and hear it. definetly sound like a plastic or something, when you turn the steering hits but in less then a second something like a TUK.

let me know what the stealer does to your car man..

thanks

My other car (MBZ) had the same problem, at my first visit they couldn't find the problem... But the second try they said the noise was coming out from the blown bushing and blown struts, and the stealership changed my front strut and bushing (good thing it was warranty)... Now its good to go...Good luck!!!

OK ... got the beast (530d Sport) back on Friday afternoon and have been driving it all weekend. No tucking sound from the steering. Dealer said that they could hear the noise in a road test. They then removed the airbag and placed some grease in the seating (where the airbag goes) before reinstalling the airbag. The tucking noise appears to have gone away. Maybe the grease is enough to stick everything together.

Cheers.
