Good to hear. Cost? Or was yours covered under warranty. Thanks much.
So I finally took the car in to take care of this noise. Sure enough, they need to replace the steering wheel buttons...the total cost $500 !!! For some damn buttons. $250 for labor, $250 for parts...I dont understand BMW sometimes. I ended up not doing the replacement.

I had a squeeky steering wheel, but mainly at low speeds when turning a fair bit. The dealer put some sort of additive in the power steering reservoir/unit and its gone. Although, based on how you've described it probably a different squeek.

They said mine wasn't covered by warranty but did it as goodwill.
How long ago did you get this done? I got it done on mine about 6 months ago, it cleared up completely, but the noise is now starting to return

The BMW dealer added something to the fluid while it was in for service.

As I said, the noise is coming back now, my service advisor is going to see if BMW will offer any goodwill towards a new steering column.
