That matches my understanding as well. I priced out the sport wheel while I was in Munich picking up my ED 530i. By the time you buy the wheel and airbag, it was close to 1000 euros without labor. I really like the wheel and can't understand why BMWNA doesn't support the option which is so cheap everywhere else in the world.

I have a US 545 w/SMG and I have the smaller thick steering wheel with the round center.
