Hi,
When I am going straight forward, my steering wheel is not centered!
This is a 04 model, 45981 miles. What could be the problem?.

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I had the same problem on my '99 320iC.
The steering wheels was simply assembled on the wrong gear.

Worst case scenario is wrong wheel aliment.

Let you local BMW dealer take care of it.

Haha you know what... a 1999 Camry that I had before had the same problem too.. it was slightly off center it was turned to the left a little when i was pointing straight. Maybe it was a Year 1999 problem.

Actually my IS had the same problem too... maybe it's just Toyota... Did you buy your BMW from Toyota? Both times I didnt do anything about it till the first service and they fixed it then.

How bad is yours? I just had mine aligned, it is still off by about 2-5 mm to the left. hardly noticeable, but I am picky. Wondering if I should complain, and if dealer will fix free of charge?

I've had mine aligned 6 times since May, and it's never been straight once since I purchased it! I even climbed in this past alignment while the car was up on the rack and positioned the wheel myself to where it looked perfectly straight, and it still ended up off to the right a few degrees. It pissed me off, but I have learned to deal with it. I try to concentrate more on the road now instead of staring at my steering wheel the whole time.

GOT to be a wheel alignment issue, get this done, and if the problem persists then advise a dealer of the prob,
