My car is in the shop for this problem ... I had the dealer do a pressure check and it's good ( this was about 1 month ago) now the problem is back and they are looking into it to see why I got this message again. As stated above I also filled up the resovure the first time so hopefully it gEts fixed this time arounnd

Hope they solve the problem. I haven't seen the message come back at all. I hope it doesn't come back again until there's really a need to refill the resevoir.

just got the car back yesterday... they said my power steering pump was leaking and it was replaced all under CPO.. lucky for me i got the car inspected at in indyshop and they said that my a/c compressor was leaking but when i took it to bmw for that they took a look at it and it turned out to be my Power steering pump.. so i got the car back and hopefully i wont have any issues..

Just letting people know: this problem may exists WITHOUT ANY ERROR MESSAGES. In my case, I'm seeing where the fluid is dripping out of the pump, yet no error message ever came on. I've been ignoring this issue for a while, but now, in addition to the traces of fluid on the pump cap, I'm getting the noise, so I'm probably just going to replace the pump and get the fluid flushed and refilled with some new fluid.

Also, to add to what Carlos said about indies, my indie mech originally said I had an OIL LEAK in my engine, when they looked at this. So don't ever trust anyone over your own good judgment. This forum will make you more of a pro in diagnosing these cars, than any indie could ever hope to become! Not to mention, that on more than one account, I've actually referred DEALER's mechanics to this forum to properly diagnose an issue.

Hope my little bit helps at least someone (been seeing a few newbies around lately )

I noticed the same problem today on my car. Fluid is leaking from the power steering cap. Can someone confirm this problem is covered under CPO? Would like to bring it into the dealership to get it repaired if it is.
