Hey Sean, totally procrastinated and am just getting around to fixing the problem. Can you help me revisit the driver side airbag issue, please?

Error codes are as follows:

009C54 IHKA: AUC sensor
09C55 IHKA: Fogging Sensor
0094CA SZL: Resistance, firing circuit, driver's airbag, stage 1, too low
0094D5 SZL: Resistance, firing circuit, driver's airbag, stage 2, too low
009CBC LM: Short circuit in a lamp circuit

Any idea if it's the airbag, szl module, or just clock spring that needs to be replaced? I took apart the steering and looked at the clock spring and potentiometer behind it. The potentiometer was definitely dirty but the brushes looked good, are intact and have contact with the track. Thanks!

That seems like a bad steering wheel control unit. Check to see if the wires and connections are good and cleaned. If not then it needs to be replaced.

I took mine apart, cleaned the disc and the sensor opticals...
No change, so I am looking for a sensor PCB board.

Anyone have the p/n handy?

I will be happy to replace this, as the job was not that hard at all.

Thanks in advance!

Clive

Steering angle sensor - 2010 535xi E61

#C237192 date 09/09

I am assuming it is the PC board with the eyenal chip on it
&
maybe the disk in a kit?

My disk and optics were really clean so, I am guessing this is the fix?

Found one, replaced it... ($100 cad)
Going down the street to a coder guy to recalibrate/initialize...
It is way better already, lost the scary check ride stuff at startup.
(Brakes apply, throttle no response, jerky behaviour)

The other problem I had was crappy after market ABS sensors - replaced with BREMI and all good.
