I do a lot of city driving and not sure if it's just me, but the first gear ratio in the 6 speed Manual on the 550's seems short. By the time I get to 10mph I need to shift and usually it's just less jerky to go straight to 3rd from 1st. Does anyone ever start from 2nd and if so does that increase wear on the clutch?

I often start in second, except from complete dead stop. 2nd to 4th to 6th. Hardly ever use 3rd and 5th gears.
