And man... So many complaints from people about all the extra steps with Start/Stop. Is this going to turn into another iDrive complaint thing like in 2004?

Sure, you can't do it in one swoop. So you gotta push a button in -- so what? It's just something new and actually cool IMO (because its something most people dont have). I could care less if it's not really easier than a normal key. I can push a button in. I do it every darn day when the Nav comes on.

Ya you're right... co-workers did get a WOW factor when I showed them the E90 start / stop but they also did say "but you have to still insert the key" I didnt want to explain that part... once I did they went and go $33K and you still have to insert it... Those GMC drivers...

So I'm curious.
Is there a new, revised 2006 E60 owner's manual that describes the start/stop button and new BMW key?

Looks like the PDF file we have on the E60 Forum is "pre-start/stop button" 2006 manual.

Looking at the two new BMW keys I recognize the door and trunk icons; however, what's that one button with the icon that appears like a wave signal?

The Siren looking button. Ya thats the panic button. Holding it for 2+ seconds will activate the alarm.

A bit off topic, but what models do you have EBMCS03? I see an Audi, BMW 3, Merc, etc. Just curious. That's quite a few cars unless youre a dealer.

No no I'm not a dealer... but those cars belong to... Awww man do I have to spoil the fun?

How about I just name the cars?

545
Cooper S
325
A4 1.8t
CLK 500
745i

If you're curious... they're not all mine. If they were I would consolidate some of them and make it into a M5.

Well, let me say....you should consider the Start/Stop button feature IN CONJUNCTION with the Comfort Access option because that's the reason why it was created.

If I was BMW, I would have raised the price a bit and offered the CA as a standard feature because, I have to agree, the Start/Stop button is a step behind wuthout CA.

But...if you have CA, it is much faster to get into the car and switch the engine on WITHOUT inserting anything anywhere.
Just my 2 cents.
Luca
