All the information on this forum I have read regarding staggered wheel sizes for Xi cars is that it should not be done because the x-drive won't work properly. Now you can build a car on the BMW website and get staggered wheel sizes when you choose the sport package. What is different about Xi cars now, that you can us staggered sizes.

I'm an xi owner with 19", staggered wheels. Feel free to ask me any questions. I've done extensive research on it.

And I just put staggered 18" 124's on my 530xi. I believe it's the same setup that is available as a sport option on the 2008 535xi.

Note the high offsets for the front (ET 43) and rear (ET 55). This is a much higher offset than the standard 124's for the 545/550.
PS - Call Garry Romani at BMW of Newport (Rhode Island). He gives E60 members a 25% discount on wheels.
