BMW has issued a bulletin reguarding this situation. I will download it. Anyone that would like it let me know and I will email it to you.

If you can, just post it here (JPG or DOC format work, I think).

Thanks, GotBMW. As my 540 aged, I would get a similar noise from my door seals. I would spray the seals with silicone and things would quiet down again. In this case, looks like they recommend removal of residual silicone for starters.

JDN: My E46 would have a sqeeky like noise as well. The product that BMW sold me. ....Gummifledge....was actually silicone and was told by my Zymol detailer not to use anything with Silcone in it. So I use Aerospace 303 protectant and it worked great on those noises. I just started hear the same type of squeeking with this car and was waiting a bit before jumping into action.

Thanks for the tip. I'll suppress the urge to spray silicone.

Yes surpress it deep .......If you can't find Aerospace 303 then Zymol Seal is the next best thing! Smells good too!

For your info, I took the car into the dealer for the very same squeaky noise from the doors. They apparently performed the same procedure (putting Carbflo on the top rubber portion of the door frame) and to my surprise, it worked perfectly. Now, I don't hear a peep from the doors.
