Just booked the car in for a second time for the squeeking door rubber issue.
They treated it with carbaflo last time and that worked for a few days. Now it's back with a vengeance..
The dealer thinks it might have something to do with the chemicals at the car wash. He told me many car wash companies use silicon based cleaning materials to give the car a certain shine. These silicons are causing the squeeking.
He offered to have my car washed at their place for a while, as their car wash is silicon free..

Any thoughts?

by car wash you dont mean one of those drive thru, paint work damaging, swirl mark creating, jobs do you? please say 'no'

if its a hand wash do they actually wash the flock covered area across the top of the door seals then?

mine was treated with carbaflo last week, was washed (by me) this weekend using meguiars gold class shampoo, dried etc etc....still fine, doors are silent so carbaflo seems to be working well.

let us know if changing your car wash works for you. guess only other possibility is to check your dealer applied the carbaflo correctly, first they need to use the bmw silicone remover then apply it.

if in doubt you can always order the remover and carbaflo, about ?30 total, and do it yourself ? I was tempted to buy some just in case as they say.

Good luck.

Zymol Cleanse is silicone-free. That is what I use.

Well we have a very modern facility over here that doesn't use the hard brushes but soft ones with twice the amount of water... no swirls seen yet on my dad's car.

i'll keep an eye or should that be ear ? on my doors. like i said (touch wood) so far so good. either your dealer did not follow the process correctly to apply the carbaflo OR he's right and it is the car wash chemicals.

the carbaflo product they should be using is (i think) KSP 105. it is detailed off this URL

a quote from their website "Carbaflo? materials are extremely durable and designed to outlast the projected lifetime of the vehicle." so I guess it should be able to with stand washing unless some chemical agent is applied that strips it.

keep us posted.

Today my car started to make the annoying squicking noize too. My car is only 3 days old!!! I think it has to do with the rain or something. I'm gonna call the dealer tomorrow to ask them because my wheels need balancing too..

The door rubbers and sills seem to stay wet forever after rain or wash. So does the rubber thing that holds the window in to place when you lower it. The window mostly comes up again all wet.
