that squealing sound comes from both cases.
when you have faulty brake sensor, if you are not lucky, u will hear it.
also when your pad is done, in this case u will hear from any cars.
i believe the sensor is just a metal piece that comes with the brake pad but eventually weird geometry of 5 series' sensor, it gets worn out on some vehicles so u won't get the notification on the idrive.
i think you only need to change the pad that comes with sensor so make the sound go away but on some 5's it never goes away like mine.
correct me if i'm wrong.
i brought up this thread because the dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty...so wanted to get inputs how i can make the dealer to replace them at their own charge.

THX A LOT FOR THE REPLY.APPRECIATE IT.SO WHT DO U SUGGEST. OR ANYONE,WHT DO U GUYS SUGGEST, THAT I CHANGE MY PADS? OR SHOULD I WAIT TILL THE IDRIVE TELLS MW TO? I THINK I STILL HAVE AROUND 10K ON THEM.WELL THATS AT LEAST WHT THE IDRIVE SAYS. OR SHOULD I HANDLE THE SQUEEKING FOR ANOTHER 6MONTH????
