Hi. I have a 06 530xi with 69k out of warranty. I have this annoying cracking squeaking sound that's driving me nuts. It happens when I go up the driveway or make sudden stops. Seems to b coming out of the middle of the dashboard. I think. Any remedies?

I had the same problem about a year ago. There is a TSB listed that states replacing the two aluminum bolts that secure the front tower brace to the firewall and retorqueing fixes the problem. I ordered the two bolts for about $20, changed them in under and hour and my squeak is completely gone!
Good luck!

I had the same problem, its an easy fix. Just pop the hood and tighten the screws of the strut bar. Thats it!!

Ok. Are these the bolts? Also the plastic cap was off and there looks to some ballbearings in there. Shouldn't there b in a case? Or is there a issue here? Tjanks[IMG]
