My stereo intermittently has a very bad static/crackling sound from every sound source, even the CD!

 

bring it in !!!! I am having my looked at today.

 

I thought it was just the AM radio, but I heard it on the CD as well. Chris, what did your dealer say or do?

 

I am having same problem. Would appreciate any feed back. Did software update two weeks ago still have had three instances since then. Only exists for a couple of minutes and then clears up.

Please advise.

You guys are hearing this in other audio sources besides AM, right?

At first I thought it was only AM, but I do hear it randomly at higher volumes in CD as well.

 

Anyone else hearing this on CD mode? I even hear it on the CD at loud volumes. It's driving me nuts.

I took it to the dealer and they didn't know how to fix it.

 

i've had this problem going on 3 months now...and i've had it looked at for three times now and they haven't figured it out...i'm getting my car back tomorrow after hearing from one of the service managers that another guy was experiencing the same problem and they reluctantly went ahead and replaced some sort of center console or control unit costing $1,400. i've demanded that they too replace this unit for me, i'll post the exact name of this part later

 

Please keep us posted. Mine is going back in Monday for this same issue after being at the dealer for an entire day once before (dealer was stumped). I think Chris (original poster) got his fixed the same way (replacing the M-ASK computer).

 

I finally got version 12.12 installed and this issue has not been fixed. My dealer said that this issue exists with cars without Logic 7. That's just BS. They are just clueless.

Anyone having this issue get it fixed somehow? If so, please let me know. I would love to refer my dealer to yours.
