Just got my 545.

While driving home I heard crackling sounds coming at the end of each word on the am band. Some channels are worse than other. But, it is still annoying. Anyone had the same problem. Didn't talk to dealer yet!!!

Just picked up the car on Thursday.

 

Sounds like the static problem mentioned on a few forums - known fault. Report it to your dealer. BMW are meant to be coming up with a fix.

I reported it. He said he would look at another 545 he got in.
If it has the same problem.

 

Been a problem for awhile. I had my E39 amplifier replaced to correct very poor AM reception. Others have complained about E60 static on AM. Suggest he look at service bulletins rather than listening to another (possibly also bad) radio on another E60, and telling you the "static is normal" on BMW.

I am delighted with the color combo.
