Has anyone else have this issue? My car is in for the Dunlop bulletin and I also want them to check this squeaking sound when I press the brake about half way.

There is a service bulliton to shave down the sensor as it contacts the rotors to quickly in the pads life, just had mine done by the dealer all quite again. Mine was the first 530 that had to be done but it worked out so far.

Again, welcome to the club(see windshield topic). Until you first notice the ubiquitous E60 brake squeal , you're not officially an E60'er.

VERY common to have the breaks squeal too soon. Mine have been in to have the sensor shaved a few times now (when they were taking care of other things). They don't seem to be shaving the sensor enough since my squealing came back way too soon. (the next day).

Thanks.

I'm experiencing a similar problem with my new 545 (only 900 miles on the clock). Instead of a squeak, though, it's more of a rattle that can be heard from the right front brake under moderate braking pressure around 20-30 mph. It's not present when coasting, so it appears to be brake-related. The dealer worked on it all day last week, first filing down the brake wear sensor you're talking about, and then ?lubricating the brake pads, but to no effect. Now, after working on it again all day today, they've decided it's a control arm that wasn't properly lubricated at the factory, and they've ordered a new one. Their theory is that the rattle only occurs with braking because of the weight transfer to the front, and loading of the front suspension, under braking. We'll see. I'm getting kind of tired of not being able to have my car.

I would like to thank everyone for the helpful information.

I am waiting to hear back from my SA and see what he tells me. BTW, I got all my tires replaced on BMW NA.
