Squeaking sound coming from under glovebox???

My Ride: 545i Sport 6M
When I had that problem, it was the e-box fan and it was replaced under warranty. The second time I had that problem, it was an auxiliary water pump that was located back there too.

auxiliary water pump <------ Do you guys know what this is? DIS gives me a fault on this item. What is the purpose of this pump?
