No rattles here eventhough we have had temperatures down to the 50s... (that is cold here in florida ya know)... and the humity has not made nay rubber squeaks either on this car, compared to my 530 the windows had to be greased twice because of the squeaking noise while driving

That's been my experience. It was 33 degrees this morning here in Phoenix, and my car was creaking and rattling away. I can't even imagine what it would be like at -5. When it's warmer outside, and the car has been sitting in the sun, I notice less rattling. Maybe it needs to pre-heat for quieter driving?
Hi jeffnin:

I was out at 32 F this morn. in my June-purchased 545i and had absolutely no squeaks, creaks, or rattling. But, I also had no traction in first gear on my Step--which is good and bad.

I just discover source of another creak: Odometer clear mask on the right. Driving on California highway will cause this creaking sound like cricket. To fix it, remove the odometer

how about rubber where plastic and leather meets each other BMW???

it's only 40F here and my car pops and rattles more than an old wooden chair. not really, but the front seats are noisy and the back seat pops some.

i test drove my neighbors new "sport - whatever it is" lexus...quiet as a mouse. didn't like all the buttons ( i think there was about 300 of them) and the touch screen was ok..still like i-drive better. i really appreciate how clean and simple our cars look inside, yet with alot of fuctionality.

Sorry...a bit off topic... but I just realized from looking at the picture that US cars have both MPH and KM/H...while in Canada, we only have KM/H... Does this means we are not suppose to cross the border?? or it just gives an extra excuse when we're stopped by a cop while speeding on the 'Interstate' hwy??

Right, you are not supposed to cross the line if your car won't do MPH. Well, OK, if you do cross anyway, then just learn to divide by .6 quickly before crossing. You'll be asked to demonstrate your ability to do so if stopped.

Hmm...I wonder when will BMW decide to put a calculator on the I-drive!

[/quote]Good question. All computers have calculators. If they make it a scientific calculator, then we transform any auto-related measures back and forth willy nilly.
