this is absolutely correct. only items in idrive are covered
CPO does cover the suspension but you have to see if all the components are covered
items in idrive are for the extended maintenance

I'd be very surprised if BMW used the same springs on the 530 and 545
The V8 is a much heavier engine than the L6.

I want to know what all of your Fender lip to center hub measurements are.
Please post year, model and mileage for comparison.

Funny that this thread came up, mrfva and I were just discussing this topic via IM. I have noticed that compared to other 545's and 550's that my 550 sits .5" to .75" lower. Just measured the 550 and she is at just over 14" and is a 9/06 build date. I wonder if build dates play any role?

yes, PTW is correct. CPO will cover the suspension. it is "somewhat" an extension of the original warranty, however item such as batt., shocks, wipers, tires, etc. (items that wear) are not covered. and forget about anything electrical (e.g. window switches, switches on seat, even light bulbs) none are covered.
If your engine blows-thats covered, tranny slips-ditto, a/c compressor leaks-no problem. these parts (big ticket items) are covered under CPO warranty.
and of course everything listed in the idrive service are covered too.
to the OP, i apologize for the thread jack. btw, is your ride pretty "bouncy?" or alot of under/over steer? these would be tell-tale signs that shocks are probably worn. good luck
