Sport package?
From what I know some of the differences include the suspension and leather wrapped steering wheel... as well as shadow line trim instead of chrome around the doors.... yesterday I was driving on my way home and there's quite a few e60's on my way about 6 i should say but i noticed that none of them had the shadow line trim around the doors. I found this really weird since i saw so many of them but i really never seen the shadow line trim on the doors on an e60 in person i only keep seeing the chrome... how rare is the sport package on the e60's? Is there any other way of telling if the car has sport package?
Thanks in advance,
-Andy

Sport package is not rare at all. Some telling signs from outside are:
1. Shadow line trim
2. Sport wheels - 123s on 525i and 530i and 124s on the 545i, 535i, and 550i
3. Xenons - although some non sports can come with this. All sports have this option.
4. Seats - the front seats are bucket style with a moveable thigh section.
I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now. IMO go sport package if nothing else, the ride is much better.

Just for yucks, I took a visual poll of 100 E 60s that I saw on the roads of NJ and 81 had the chrome, meaning no sport package. I broke it up into 2 sets of 50 so it would be easier to keep track of the counts. It took me about 2 weeks to compile and it was kinda fun and gave me something to do behind the wheel besides drive and listen to the radio.

In contrast to what I wrote before the sport suspension is a bit milder than the M-Sport suspension.
It's a good choice!

It would take about 4 months for me to see a total of a 100 E60's here in San Antonio.

it would probably take me like a week to see 100 e60's but none with the sport package

I would bet anyone $100.00 that there are at least 100 E60's in the Standard Parking garage at 900 N. Michigan, Chicago Illinois as I post. Ha Ha Ha!
